How you’ll spend your days…
You will have a passion for electrical design, aiming to optimise system reliability and manufacturability, whilst enabling futuristic robotic systems. Other responsibilities might include;
Define cable routing within control panels and external machines using Eplan SmartWire
Specifying and designing safe automation equipment for International applications by selecting and configuring electrical components, controls, AC & DC power systems and functionally safe architectures.
Power calculations and budgeting.
Identifying new ideas to improve our products, and producing reference designs and PoCs to prove and implement these concepts.
Solving engineering problems via relevant investigation activities, and presenting root cause analysis and solutions.
Checking all modifications and new designs are fully detailed and documented such that they can be deployed internationally.
Compile, incorporate and maintain electrical drawings provided by third parties.
Preparing for manufacture (Bill of Materials, Harness drawings) and working with external suppliers to deliver your designs.

EPLAN – minimum 3 years’ experience.
Ability to develop and maintain electrical calculators, thermal modelling of system electrical components
Working to requirements, developing Functional design specifications.
Ability to select standard components and design automation products.
Experience of working on electrical cabinets and control systems for global application
Bonus points if you also have…
An electrician’s qualification (e.g. 18th Edition)
Hands on Electrical Cabinet build and installation experience
Experience of simulation of electrical systems
Experience of working with Siemens PLC
Experience of simulation with electromechanical architecture in Solidworks, On Shape or similar.
Familiarity with warehouse automation or other automation industries
Experience in live production scenarios
