Key roles
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
Discuss needs with customer to identify and write the critical requirements which would result in a quality product.
Leverage sound knowledge of rapid prototype manufacture techniques to run tight development loops on proof of concepts.
Identify methods to test both sub-system and full-system to demonstrate proof of concepts meet design requirements.
Develop road maps as to how a proof of concept would be developed into a product.
Prepare work packages to present progress at technical reviews at various project milestones.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Supporting head of department with coaching and mentoring of more junior team members.

Fluent in solid modelling CAD packages.
Fluent with FEA to conduct strength analyses.
Experience applying correct analytical formulae to engineering problems.
Knowledge of a breadth of mechanical engineering concepts.
Knowledge of a breadth of manufacturing techniques.
Understanding of how to research and apply new techniques.
Have a wider appreciation of software and/or electrical engineering
Experience in a hands-on lab / workshop environment.
Willingness to challenge the normal way of doing things and proven ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to develop innovative solutions to real world problems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use multiple internal and external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Desired skills / experience
Experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Experience working in a high-tech engineering company.
Experience using Python or other computing languages.
Experience working with additive manufacturing.
Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts.
Required Qualifications
Good degree in a rigorous mechanical engineering subject or CEng IMechE.
Extensive experience in a mechanical design setting.
Proven delivery.
