Job Description
Essential responsibilities:
Liaise across the organizational matrix to define the procedure for assigned tests and marshal the appropriate tooling and equipment.
Instrument and modify test specimens and assemble into test rigs.
Configure data loggers to the specific test requirements.
Conduct load, fatigue and vibration testing of test specimens to meet project timescales, regulatory requirements, and cost, ensuring that tests are executed correctly first time.
Conduct dynamic tests on propeller hubs and complete propeller assemblies.
Analyze test data and produce detailed customer technical reports.
Diagnose and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
Undertake designated continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.
Support wider Company research and development activity, including undertaking research testing as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar related discipline.
Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical control systems.
Proved track record of strong problem-solving skills and communicating solutions in a concise, professional manner.
Capable of taking ownership to ensure deadlines are met to cost and schedule.
Can-do attitude with experience of working on own initiative or as part of a team within a changing environment.
Prepared to work offsite/outside of UK for short periods of time and willingness to work extended/flexible hours when required to meet customer demands.
Desired Characteristics
Experience of working within a highly regulatory or change controlled environment.
Experience of calibrating test instrumentation.
Familiarity with test control software such as: Labview, Matlab, Similink, and Speedgoat,
Highly literate with MS Office programs and tools.
